BeePush

Push Notification Monetization

Own your audience. Monetize the re-visit.

Search traffic is rented. A push subscriber is yours — a direct line to a reader who already chose you, that no algorithm update can take away. BeePush builds that list one tap at a time, then earns from it twice: by bringing readers back to your fully monetized pages, and by serving paid notifications directly.

The problem

What this is costing you right now

01

An algorithm update can vaporize your traffic overnight

A core update, a new AI Overview eating the click, a SERP layout change — and half your sessions are gone on a Tuesday, with no warning and no appeal.

02

Repeat visits are the cheapest traffic you will ever get

A returning reader costs you nothing to acquire, converts better on ads, and goes deeper into the session.

03

Email opt-ins are slow. Push opt-ins are one tap.

Building an email list means asking for an address, confirming it, fighting the promotions tab and hoping for a 25% open rate.

How it works

What BeePush actually does

No black box. Here is the whole mechanism, step by step.

BeePush — how it works

  1. 1

Ask at the right moment, not the wrong one

The browser permission prompt fires once — spend it badly and that reader is blocked forever. BeePush shows a soft prompt only after a genuine engagement signal (scroll depth, second page, time on article), never on the landing millisecond.

  2. 2

Store the subscriber with interest tags

Subscribers are tagged by what they actually read — cricket, finance, movies, jobs — automatically, from behaviour rather than from a survey nobody fills in.

  3. 3

Revenue path one: bring them back

Push your best content to the readers most likely to want it. They land on your site, where your full ad stack — BeeBid, BeeFloor, BeeFresh, the lot — earns on them exactly as it would on any other session. This path has no advertiser at all; it is just traffic you generated for free.

  4. 4

    Revenue path two: monetized notifications

Native ad notifications from demand partners, served directly to subscribers and capped hard. This is the higher-yield path and also the one that burns a list if you abuse it, which is why the caps are conservative by default.

  5. 5

Watch the churn, not just the revenue

Delivery, click-through, revenue per thousand subscribers and unsubscribe rate are reported together. A month where revenue rose and churn doubled is a bad month, and the dashboard is built so you cannot miss that.

Only the first step happens on your site. Everything after it happens on the reader's device — which is exactly why this audience is yours and not rented.
  • One-tap opt-in no typing, no inbox
  • Auto interest tags from reading behaviour
  • 2 ads/day cap churn is the real cost
  • List stays yours exportable, never resold

A push lands on the device and brings the reader back to a page where your full ad stack earns on them again.

Two revenue paths: traffic notifications that cost no advertiser anything, and capped monetized pushes.

Specifications

Full technical specification

Publishers compare specifications, not adjectives. Everything is here, including what depends on partners we do not control.

Standard & opt-in

Standard & opt-in
Standard W3C Web Push with VAPID, service-worker based. Works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera on desktop and Android.
iOS support Supported on iOS 16.4+, but only for sites the user has added to their home screen as a PWA. In practice that is a small fraction of iPhone readers. We document this honestly rather than letting you discover it from your own numbers.
Opt-in UX Two-step: a soft-prompt overlay before the browser prompt, which materially raises accept rates and — more importantly — protects the one-shot browser prompt from being spent on an uninterested reader. Engagement-triggered timing, with frequency-capped re-asks for people who dismiss the soft prompt.

Targeting & sending

Targeting & sending
Segmentation Category interests derived automatically from reading behaviour, plus geo, device, and recency/frequency buckets. Send cricket pushes to cricket readers.
Sending Scheduled and trigger-based (new article in a followed category), with TTL and collapse keys so a stale notification does not arrive six hours late, and quiet hours enforced per subscriber timezone.
Monetized push limits Maximum 2 per subscriber per day by default, hard-capped. Advertiser categories are filterable and landing pages are quality-checked. The cap is low on purpose: a list that is pushed six ads a day is a list that unsubscribes.

Limits, compliance & data

Limits, compliance & data
Compliance One-tap unsubscribe honoured instantly and irreversibly. No dark patterns, no fake "confirm you are human" prompts, no re-subscribing someone who left. Full consent logs retained.
Analytics Subscriber count, churn, delivery rate, click-through, revenue per 1,000 subscribers (RPS) and cohort retention curves — so you can see whether a list built in March is still worth anything in September.
Data ownership The subscriber list is yours. Exportable, portable, and not shared with other publishers or sold on. If you leave, you take the list.

Some capabilities depend on third-party approvals and platform policies that are not ours to promise. Where that is the case, the spec above says so explicitly.

The top of the range needs a large, well-segmented list built over months. Expect an Android-skewed audience.

Expected difference

+10–30% of total revenue benchmark 1

A compounding asset: nothing in month one, meaningful by month six. Over-sending early is what kills it.

2/day

Default cap on monetized pushes per subscriber

Deliberately conservative. Churn is the cost that does not show up until later.

iOS 16.4+

Apple support — PWA home-screen installs only

A real limitation. Expect your subscriber base to skew Android.

Being straight with you: Push is a compounding asset, not a switch. Month one you have no list and no revenue. Month six you have a list that earns every day without you doing anything. The mistake that kills it is over-sending early: publishers who push aggressively to a small list get a good week and then a permanently smaller list. The caps in this product exist because the temptation is real.

Questions

BeePush — frequently asked

They will if you send too many, which is why the default cap is two monetized pushes per subscriber per day, quiet hours are enforced per timezone, advertiser quality is filtered, and unsubscribing takes one tap and is honoured instantly. A reader who leaves is gone permanently — the economics push hard toward restraint.

Partially, and we would rather say so plainly. iOS 16.4 and later support web push, but only for sites the user has added to their home screen as a PWA — which most people never do. If your traffic is heavily iOS, expect your subscriber list to be much smaller than your pageview share suggests. On Android and desktop Chrome it works fully.

Native push demand networks, disclosed by name in your dashboard rather than hidden behind an aggregate revenue number. You can block advertiser categories, and landing pages are quality-checked — the push ad ecosystem has a genuine junk problem and pretending otherwise would not serve you.

No. You can run traffic notifications only — pushing your own content back to your own site, where your normal ad stack earns on the session. Many publishers should start there, build the list for a few months, and only then decide whether to add paid pushes.

You take it. The list is yours, it is exportable, and it is never shared with other publishers or sold on. Publisher owns their accounts and data is one of our five stated principles, and a subscriber list is exactly the kind of asset that principle exists to protect.
